Guess the flag from its colors
A flag pie chart, five guesses. Daily or unlimited, always free.
Reference digital colors; similar details under 1% are grouped.
A flag guessing game with a colorful twist
FlagCake turns a national flag into a pie chart. You see its colors and their approximate proportions, but not its stripes, stars or symbols. Name the country in five guesses, using geography hints when you need a hand.
Play a shared daily flag puzzle or choose Endless for unlimited practice with 197 flags. Both modes are free, without an account or a paid archive. In Endless, you can focus on a region to learn its flags at your own pace.
How to play the flag pie chart game
- Compare the biggest slices first, then look for small colors that might belong to a symbol.
- Type a country, choose it from the list and press Guess.
- A wrong guess unlocks a hint: bordering countries, area, capital, then continent.
- Solve the puzzle within five guesses. At the end, see the original flag and share your result.

Frequently asked questions
Is FlagCake free and unlimited?
Yes. The Daily puzzle and Endless mode are both free. Choose Endless to play more rounds, or use its region selector to narrow the pool. No subscription or sign-up is required.
When does the daily flag change?
The daily puzzle uses the UTC calendar date, so everyone gets the same country for that date. A new daily round started after midnight UTC uses the new puzzle; refresh the page if you have kept yesterday's round open.
How is this different from a regular flag quiz?
A traditional flag quiz shows the flag's design. FlagCake hides the layout and shows the color proportions instead. You need to think about how much of each color a flag contains, not just recognize its silhouette.
Are the flag colors and percentages exact?
The chart is an approximation calculated from a digital flag image using reference color palettes. Percentages are rounded, and similar details below 1% may be grouped. Tiny symbols and different digital versions of a flag can affect the result. See our color calculation method and data sources.
Can two countries have similar charts?
Yes. Flags with similar colors and proportions can look alike once their designs are removed. The chart alone may not identify one country uniquely. Use the unlocked geography hints to narrow down the answer.
Where are my statistics saved?
Your wins, guesses and streaks stay in this browser on this device. They do not sync across devices, and clearing site data removes them. The streak counts consecutive wins, not consecutive calendar days. Read our privacy notice.
